Quick Answer
Every embassy works differently. Some need an appointment and a request letter, some need prior approval, and some ask for nothing at all. The guides below list only places where the embassy has confirmed its steps in writing, with the date. For anywhere not listed yet, WhatsApp Kenneth and he will confirm it with you.

Sending a Body or Ashes Overseas
The Singapore side for any destination: the NEA coffin export permit, documents, and what an Air Waybill is.
What these guides cover
Repatriation here means transport only. The body or ashes are prepared in Singapore, sent by air cargo, and delivered to the arrival airport. Prayers or a wake held in Singapore beforehand are separate and paid for by the family. The journey from the airport to the home town is arranged by the family or a receiving funeral home.
For Work Permit holders and domestic helpers, Singapore's Ministry of Manpower puts the cost on the employer, so the employer usually arranges it.
More destinations
Bangladesh, India, China, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam and others are being confirmed with the embassies. Each is added here once the embassy has replied in writing. WhatsApp Kenneth to ask about any of them now.
